Prince George's Amateur Radio Club of Maryland's Mission

Prince George's Amateur Radio Club of Maryland's mission was the dream of a small group of Amateur Radio Operators who also enjoyed a good meal now and again. The 84th Aero Squadron Restuarant of College Park is where our club was formulated. P.G.A.R.C. of Md. is Governed by a board of directors.

Membership to the P.G.A.R.C. of Md. is NOT restricted to Prince George's County residents. P.G. County is only a location in hopes of bridging the gap between groups in the sounding area offering a similar knowledge base of activities. We also hope to collaborate with surrounding area Clubs, Counties and states in an attempt to broaden the friendship and enhancing a cohesiveness among all Amateur Operators.

Amateur Radio has a two fold function.

(1.) as a Hobby, in which we ar all ambassadors setting examples of friendships and coopertion with others.  Learning more about and the application of Amateur Radio from other knowledgeable members and activities.

The Prince George's Amateur Radio Club of Md. is  an organization for the sole purpose of educating licensed and non licensed people in the many attributes of Amateur Radio.

The PGARC of Md. is an activities club dealing, Primarily, in Education in its application and service to the community. While we associate and lend our assistance with many other organizations we have a sole purpose to educate and in doing so allow its members to branch off forming groups to further educate others and in doing so service their communities.

(2.) As a Service to the comunity in times of emergencies and comunicational needs.

Our desire is to offer additional education for potential and licensed operator in many if not all aspects, options and applications of the hobby and service of Amateur Radio.
