MS Walkathon Oxon Hill, Md
Saturday, April 14th 2007
For the second year in a row, P.G.A.R.C. of Md was asked by Dan Blaseberg to staffed the Oxon Hill location of the Multiple Sclerosis Walkathon. I didn't take any pictures but had a Walkathon paticipant to take the only picture of the members and friends who staffed the communications for the event. Robert Lee(KM3DR) picked up the reins as rover and orchestrator.
The weather was moderately cool and over cast but tolerable. The staffers were expessively enjoying the sights, fresh air and fellowship..(LOL)

New from the Islands via Tx. V21JA/W3 contacted PGARC of Md. iquiring how he could attain his US Amateur license. With the aid of Mona NY7P, we a looked into the where there was a method of FCC giving him credit for his present license. We could not come up with another direction to do this.
Jerry Aberdeen said that if it was too much trouble he would retake the exams. Problem solved.
Jerry has background in electronics and did not think the tech exam would be difficult to pass. I suggesed that he try for General while he was at the Exam location. He did and called me inconclusion and my ear is still ringing at the time I make this posting.
Jerry Aberdeen took his exam at the AARC location, Saturday, November 8th 2008. Like me, he met Holly who he remembers as one of his first, most pleasent voices on the air here in the area.

Saturday, March 10th, N3JFX Don, attended the VE session with
the Mount Vernon Radio Club
at The First Christian Church, 2723 King St. Alexandria, Va. and was lucky to get out with my remaining wits...."I was a nervous reck" LOL. I was warmly greated and offered the utmost comfort by people in line and Club members. It was a really pleasant experience getting my paperwork filed to take the test and every consideration was afforded me in taking the General test.
The lovely young lady receptionist greated me and others at the door and was successful in relieving my "testing anxiety" and bringing me back to Earth with her smile and assistance.
"JD" thanks for the materials

PGARC of Md February Meeting/Seminar
Presented by
"Mr. APRS" Bob Bruninga (WB4APR)
10:30 am Saturday, February 3rd.
at the Greenbelt Library
11 Cresant Road in Greenbelt Md.
This was a great success in "Sharing the Knowledge".
Bob Bruninga was masterful in his presentation of the originally proposed use of his software for APRS (Automatic Packet/Position Reporting System) not being just a vehicle or personal tracking program and indepth information on the recently deployed A.P.R.S. satelites.
Bob's presentation had the participants deep in thought and eager to correctly utilize, test and or build their own APRS packages.
PGARC of MD would like to thank Bob Bruninga WB4APR for his selflessness in driving the distance from his home to share his knowledge with us all.
We would also like to thank CMARC members and others for attending the seminar and making it a successful and worthwhile venture.
Thank you Bob for a highly informative day!
