Prince George's Amateur Radio Club of Maryland's
Field Day 2006
PGARC of Md would like to thank the O.E.M. and Bladensburg C.E.R.T. for the promotion and support of our 2006 Field Day Event.
Saturday, June 24th started cloudy but was a good event, thanks to members and supporters. Ken Greenhouse (KB3IIE) supplied a Canopy which held the tables and participants safe from the UV of the sun and a few mosquitos. We, and all Field Day Participants were spared from the rain until close to 8pm. This was an understandable concern by many, considering the fire storm we had just days before.
Participants were : *Jesse Alexander(WB2IFS) and Jim Barret(K3CKT) on CW, and boy what a show they put on.
***Bill Pimble(N3JBX)on HF phone
Ken Greenhouse (KB3IIE) on ATV
** Robert Lee(KM3DR), Terry Williams(KB3KHX) on 6 meter/ 2meter
Pete Rieniger had just landed back in the country hours before he came to help setup the site and still managed to be a great help in setting up antennas and making contacts.
Gerry Conkling was a great help in assisting the setup of antennas, transporting of refreshments, making contacts on 6 and 2 meters.
Capers Gambrell came to the site and immediately lighted the whole event with his smile and presence. Caper assisted with communication between roving ATV testing and antenna setups.
Once he got home from work Bill Thompson (N3DC) participated as one of the contacts via ATV 439.25. Picture rating "P5!"
Contacts were made by all modes

Unfortunately the visitors clipboard was not readily available at first. We would like to thank all those who came by to visit and wish us well.
This is a learning experience and we hope to draw more knowledge from this event and get better.
We ask that anyone having pictures of our event please contact us for posting on this website.
NOTE:
I am sorry that not all who came could be accommadated in the manor they would have wished.
I hope you will not hold that against us and understand about the logistics of putting on an event like this and the fact that we were overwhelmed with the participation of visitors and I hope we will still remain friends.
Don (N3JFX)
THANK YOU
