PGARSEC of Md. "The Origin"
The idea for the club, PGARSEC of MD, was formulated at the 94th Aero Squadron in College Park, Md. , while enjoying the buffet at the restraurant. We decided that we should form a club based on the furthering the knowledge of Amateurs of all licenses and unlicensed members of the community. To keep the club on the planned guidelines, the club is goverened by a board of directors consisting of select founders of the organization. Joining members are supporters of the guidelines and are participants and with the understanding of the Clubs Mission and Goals.
There are many aspects, benifits and fun that Amateur radio has offered and has to offer. There were many times we saw comments on how the numbers of Amateur Radio Operators were dwindling...but no one making the comments were doing anything to help deminish the dwindling figures and also exploring more of the interesting aspects that can be explored in Amateur Radio.
We wanted to join the small number of clubs making a difference by "Sharing the Knowledge" with other Amateurs and the Community raising the number of "Hams" and more knowledgeable "Amateurs".
The Charter was drawn up and signed June 3rd. 2005 at The 94th Aero Squadron Restaurant, College Park, Maryland.
